What is purpose and the importance of it?
Purpose is a very broad word, so let me break down my version of purpose, how I find purpose in my life and the importance of it

The word Purpose is very vague and it's a word that is very easy to throw around. However it's meaning is extremely deep, it's unique to every individual, it's a slow and sometimes painful journey but it's also the most rewarding thing you can pursue in life, let me tell you why and how.
What actually is Purpose?
This can be answered in many ways, but I like to start off with a question, and that is 'Look at yourself a year ago today, what has changed and did you apply your true-self to how you lived it?'
Purpose is your compass that provides direction in your life. It's what makes you happy, what makes you tick, what makes you want to get out of bed in the morning and most importantly, it's how you want to spend your time, as that is our biggest asset in life.
What is Purpose to Billy?
For me it's living with intent, actually making the most of my days, being honest with myself that I'm actually putting in the work, that I'm not letting external factors get in the way of how I actually want to live. I've always said as long as you're a good human being with manners, moral and respect, then it's your prerogative to live the life you want to live. I don't want to just coasting through life ticking the boxes of having a career, job, house, car and all of the things society expects us to have, just for the sake of having them.
What do I do as a Purpose Coach?
I help people live a life that is more aligned, to who they actually are. Living a lifestyle that is true to themself and not letting external factors get in the way of that.
So many of us are scared of saying the wrong thing and being their true-self in fear of judgement, because you need the money, need the job, need the social status. So I want to show people that as long as you're a good human being, it's your prerogative to live the life you want to live, and just how much more rewarding it is doing something you're proud of.
How I find Purpose in my life?
Purpose has no end goal, it's not one big destination, it's an evolving journey that for me has lots of different mini-purposes. For example see below my mini-purposes;
I find Purpose in my morning workout, not because I want a 6 pack, but because I want to be able to do things into my old age, play with grandkids, go on a hike in the alps and also I know it will trickle into all parts of how my day goes.
I find Purpose in reading every morning, because I dislike reading, I'm doing something that I don't necessarily want to do but I know it will benefit me in the long-run as it's important to keep learning.
I find Purpose in friendships, because I know how important they are, I want to be a good friend and I want my friends there for me, so I ensure that I am active in these friendships, checking in on them, showing genuine interest etc.
I find Purpose in getting out of my comfort zone, as I know that's where true growth comes from, and I don't want to keep doing the same things year after year otherwise you'll never learn or do anything different.
I find Purpose in gaining mental clarity, because I know this will filter into all aspects of life, so I ensure I get movement in, cold water exposure and meditation to give me the best chance of being mentally clear for the day.
I find purpose in exploring, because I know it's important to see new places, experience new cultures, speak to different types of people, test my skills with organization and planning, and see how resilient I am when things go wrong.
I find Purpose in having a positive outlook, I understand everyday is not perfect, we'll face obstacles and we can't always be happy, but I'm a big believe that what you put out into the world, you will eventually receive back, and the world needs all the positivity it can get.
I find Purpose in being intent with the work that I'm doing, something that I'm passionate about, something I want to be an expert in as then I will be able to service myself and others.
Every area of your life has purpose, once you start to understand what your actual purpose is in those areas, you'll be able to work backward and find out how to actually find.
Why is it hard finding purpose?
It's a fine balance between living the life you want to live, on your own terms, but also not being a selfish human being, still having good manners, morals and respecting those closest to you.
People are scared to live the life they actually want to because of judgement, because it might be different to a 'normal' lifestyle that society has painted for people.
It takes a lot of self-discipline, a very honest look at yourself, the willingness to change and commit to testing yourself, creating and holding yourself accountable to certain habits, and it takes time.
Everyone wants a quick fix these days, instant gratification, so committing to a long journey where you don't see results overnight is difficult.
How does it serve you living with Purpose?
To put it bluntly, if you don't, you simple coast through life, never truly living the way you wish to live it or finding out just what you're capable of.
It provides you with direction and motivation, to reduce feelings of aimlessness and discontent.
It enhances your resilience in the face of challenges, which fosters a deep-sense of fulfillment, enjoyment and overall well-being.
Waking up each day with a sense of intent, in all aspects of your life, giving you more motivation, happiness and most importantly one of the best feelings in the world, being proud of yourself that you've shown up, committed and been honest to your true-self.
To sum up my thoughts on Purpose
I get it, there still might be a slight stigma around Purpose, because people aren't ready to fully explore it, because they don't understand just how important it is to live a fulfilled and happy life.
It takes a certain type of person, some people are happy just getting by, having a mindset of well if it's not broke why try and fix it, where others such as myself love to think about life, how to improve it and really understand just how quickly time goes and that we're only here once, and frankly after you're gone you'll be forgotten so why not try and live how you want to.
You will never reach a time in your life where you experience constant happiness, or never experience challenges. That's not the goal here with finding Purpose, it's to be proud of yourself that you gave it a go, that you discovered all the potential you have to give to yourself and others, and embracing the small things and journey of life.
